WHAT is Renewable Energy?

SUNSHINE, PROVIDES LIGHT AND HEAT TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY, RENEWED DAILY.

We orbit around a bright shining star which we call the Sun, and enough power is beamed to planet earth to power the whole world. And it's free. The Sun also heats the atmosphere, which causes the air to move. This creates wind and rain and snowfall, providing energy for wind-powered electricity and hydro-generators that capture energy from moving water off the mountains and hill upon which the rain falls. The gravity of the earth itself, providing this power as the water runs from high pastures back to the sea.

The moon too has a place as it moves the sea around due to its gravitational action on the earth. Tidal machines can react to the moving water that is sloshing from one side of the planet to the other, generating electricity. It almost sounds strange to think of all these natural events happening around us full of immense power. This renewable energy, constantly there and constantly renewed.
