9kW Solar PV Tiles - Vale

The homeowner needed to replace the roof, so it was a perfect opportunity to install building integrated solar tiles and achieve the highest possible aesthetics. Both the new clay tiles and PV are made by the same manufacturer and therefore integrate perfectly, providing a really high end finish à la Grand Designs.

The solar system is east, south and west facing, spreading the generation across the day, maximising roof space to maximise savings. Planning was very supportive of this type of array, permission was required as the west-facing aspect was facing the road, but because of the high aesthetics, planning was straight-forward. We also took good care of the U-Values taking the opportunity to upgrade the loft insulation and roof membrane whilst there was good access.
